Tottenham Hotspur are desperate to acquire the services of AS Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo and are ready to offer a sum of €30 million this month.
As reported by Sport Witness, Tottenham Hotspur want to execute a transfer for AS Roma youngster Nicolo Zaniolo and they are willing to spend to the tune of €30 million for the player.
Zaniolo’s future has been uncertain following some recent turn of events. The Italian was booed off the pitch as he was subbed off against Genoa in the Serie A a few days back.
He seems to have lost his golden touch and a number of long-haul injury problems have also halted his momentum several times. Roma feel this could be the best time to consider his departure as the player already has entered the last 18 months of his current deal.
His value will further drop in the summer if he doesn’t improve his current performances. The club wants to seal a deal for a price in the region of €40 million but Spurs would offer €30 million including bonuses.
Roma could accept a lower sum to the tune of €30 million but they want that as an upfront fee and are believed to be sending the player to London on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy the player.
Zaniolo is pushing for a transfer and the player also asked to be left out of the matchday squad against Spezia. Things could accelerate in the next few days and the attacking midfielder could finally be seen in the Premier League. His agent Claudio Vigorelli could fly to London in the next few days to fine-tune the details of a potential move.
Gazzetta Dello Sport writes, “Tottenham are ready to reach even €30m, perhaps with bonuses, but to trigger the obligation they want to insert the qualification clause for the Champions League. And Roma have already said no, despite the fact that Vigorelli is ready to fly to London in the upcoming week.”
Spurs haven’t been involved in any kind of transfers but they could make some quick moves during the business end of the window. Antonio Conte ideally wants a new creative force in the midfield and Zaniolo can definitely provide that cutting-edge.
