Arsenal have initiated contacts with Shakhtar Donetsk as they continue to orchestrate a move for winger Mykhaylo Mudryk.
As per Give me sport, Arsenal are engaged in continuous discussion with Shakhtar Donetsk as they are eyeing a move for talented Ukrainian winger Mykhaylo Mudryk.
Arsenal’s interest in Mudryk has not been kept under wraps as the Gunners have been trying to negotiate a deal for the 21-year-old. The superstar forward came through the ranks at the club and following a couple of loan moves, he finally has been given a long run in the senior setup since last season.
It has not been a disappointing move as the left winger has been involved in 18 goals this season. Arsenal lost Gabriel Jesus for a prolonged period and Mikel Arteta is very keen to add another forward to keep the momentum intact.
They are topping the Premier League table and it remains to be seen whether this World Cup break has disrupted their rhythm. Former Croatian international Darijo Srna who also happens to be Shakhtar’s director of football already indicated that the North Londoners club would have to offer the region of €100 million to convince the club.
But it is believed an agreement can be reached for a much lower fee as Shakhtar are aware their asking price cannot be met by any suitors. Personal terms won’t be a problem as the wide man has his heart set out on a move to the Premier League.
Reporter Ben Jacobs insisted Arsenal have a tough task to cut out as Shakhtar will negotiate a pretty high price for the player.
“Arsenal have made the move on Mudryk in the sense that they are now in talks with both Shakhtar and Mudryk’s representatives.
“The talks with Mudryk’s representatives are easy because Mudryk wants Arsenal; the negotiations with Shakhtar are a whole lot harder.”
Mudryk already admitted his adulation for Arsenal and he is more than ready to don the Gunners’ jersey next month. Another high-value transfer could be on its way to the Emirates and it might turn out to be a shrewd move.
