Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur will have to fight it out for the service of Sevilla midfielder Isco next month.
According to Fichajes, both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are willing to take in Sevilla midfielder Isco in January as the player could be on the verge of leaving Sevilla.
Isco left Real Madrid in the summer and joined Sevilla on a free transfer. Several clubs including Arsenal and Tottenham had tried to offer him a project but the Spanish international decided to stay in Spain and the decision has backfired as it stands.
Julen Lopetegui’s failure to engineer Sevilla into the Champions League knockouts saw him losing the coveted job as Jorge Sampaoli has taken up his seat at the club.
Isco recently had a bust-up with Sporting Director Monchi as the former was seen leaving Sevilla’s training ground after having an altercation and the management is unlikely to digest the whole matter.
Sampaoli didn’t play him in Sevilla’s latest friendly matches and that must be the reason behind Isco’s recent behaviour. The 30-year-old is expected to sit down with the club but they are unlikely to allow any kind of discipline in the dressing room.
He will likely be placed in the transfer market and there won’t be a shortage of suitors for the former Madrid attacking midfielder. Spurs are currently devoid of a player like Isco’s quality and Antonio Conte would be really delighted to get a player like him under his folds.
Isco can also offer his expertise in multiple positions which will allow the Italian manager to have some clear options at his disposal. Arsenal do have a set of talented players in the attacking midfield department but if a player like Isco is served on a plate Mikel Arteta wouldn’t mind in getting the player at the Emirates Stadium.
Isco can also be deployed in a deeper midfield position and will also be effective when he is stationed in either of the flanks. The Spaniard still has a lot to play for and a move to the Premier League might just be the perfect setup for him.
