Struggling La Liga giants Sevilla are reportedly interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur winger Lucas Moura.
According to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, La Liga giants Sevilla are looking to sign Brazilian winger Lucas Moura from Tottenham Hotspur when the transfer window reopens in January.
The 30-year-old is nearing the end of his contract at the north London club, and Spurs have not been able to agree on a contract extension with him yet. The player has been heavily linked with a move away from Tottenham so that he can play more regularly during the second half of the season.
Moura recently revealed he is open to leaving Tottenham as a free agent. The Brazilian winger is yet to start a single game for Tottenham in the Premier League, and he needs to play more often at this stage of his career.
Moura has been a key player since joining Tottenham, but he has fallen down the pecking order this season. The like of Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison have pushed him down the pecking order, and he is unlikely to get ample game time if he stays at the London club. Sevilla could definitely use a quality player like him in the final third, and it will be interesting to see if they can negotiate a deal with Spurs.
Given his contract situation, the 30-year-old could be available for a reasonable fee, and he could make an immediate impact at the struggling La Liga club. Sevilla are currently 18th in the league table and are battling with relegation. Bringing in a quality player like Moura could transform the season and help them finish the season strongly.
The Tottenham winger has been linked with a return to his homeland in Brazil as well. It will be interesting to see if he is willing to move to Spain, for the next stage of his career. There is no doubt that the 30-year-old is good enough to play at a top European league and he would be a smart signing for the Spanish outfit.
The Brazilian can operate on either flank, and he has played as a false nine under former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino as well. And his versatility will be an added bonus for Sevilla. Meanwhile, Conte has always maintained that he will not let his players leave without bringing in a replacement, and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the next few weeks.
