Arsenal and Manchester United are among the clubs keen on signing in-form Newcastle United attacker Miguel Almiron in January.
According to Fichajes, there is considerable interest from Manchester United and Arsenal in Miguel Almiron. The in-form Newcastle United attacker has made a flying start to the season, and clubs could come in with an approach.
Miguel Almiron is one of the players taking the Premier League by storm this season. The Paraguayan attacker has eight goals in 14 appearances. He has helped Newcastle United climb into the third position on the table. And the club’s rise in the last year has been exponential, and Almiron has played a big part.
The 28-year-old attacker has plenty of eyeballs from clubs around the market. Atletico Madrid are already interested. And they could be joined by Manchester United and Arsenal in the hunt for the Paraguayan playmaker.
Mikel Arteta has already asked the club to sign a quality player that can elevate the stature of his squad in January. The idea is to build on the excellent form Arsenal have shown this term and bring in someone to help challenge for the title.
Almiron could be a good fit to align with what Arteta is looking for, as the in-form Newcastle attacker has shown his prowess on the right wing. He could be the right player to compete with Bukayo Saka. The Paraguayan international could also play the attacking midfield role, thus bringing quality cover for Martin Odegaard.
He would improve Arsenal’s chances of competing with Manchester City for the title. Manchester United are also keen on Almiron following the player’s successful campaign thus far in the league. Erik ten Hag is ready to resume recruitment in January, and further add to the summer additions.
There’s space in the attacking unit, and a new player will let them push for a top-four spot. With Cristiano Ronaldo’s future remaining uncertain, ten Hag could see Almiron as a viable goal threat he could add to the team. The Paraguayan international certainly elevates the current squad and makes them a solid side.
The biggest hurdle would be to convince Newcastle United to part ways. The Magpies have emerged as one of the favourites to finish in the top four on current form an are unlikely to part ways with their top goalscorer.
While it will take a massive bid for Newcastle even to consider selling, the primary decision will remain with Almiron. With his contract expiring in 2024, the attacker has to decide on his next move, including a renewal with Newcastle United.
The new contract will need re-signing before the current season ends, or the club will risk losing him on the cheap next summer. Beyond Arsenal and Manchester United, more clubs could register an interest if his situation is not resolved. The Magpies would not concern themselves too much about the attacker and focus on the next game.
