Liverpool are looking to sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia during the winter transfer window.

According to a report from Fichajes, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has made it a priority to sign the Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia during the January transfer window.

The 21-year-old Georgian international has been outstanding for Napoli this season and his performances in the Champions League have caught the attention of the Reds. Kvaratskhelia tormented Trent Alexander-Arnold when the two sides met in the Champions League in their group opener this season.

Liverpool need to add more quality to their attack and the Napoli star seems like an exciting option. The 21-year-old can chip in with goals and assists. Also, he likes to take players on and his directness would be an asset for Liverpool.

Apart from Luis Diaz, Liverpool do not have a natural dribbler in their attack and Kvaratskhelia would add some much-needed unpredictability to the side.

It will be interesting to see whether Napoli are willing to let him leave halfway through the season, especially with the kind of campaign they are having. They are one of the favourites to win the Serie A and are five points clear at top of the table so far.

Losing a player like Kvaratskhelia in January would weaken them severely and it would infuriate the fans as well. The 21-year-old is adored by the Napoli faithful who refer to him as ‘Kvaradona’ – a nickname likening him to club legend Diego Maradona.

Kvaratskhelia has 8 goals and 10 assists to his name so far this season.

Napoli have him under contract until the summer of 2027 and therefore they are under no pressure to sell him just yet. Liverpool would have to come up with an absurd amount of money to tempt them into selling their prized asset in January.

A move in the summer might be more sensible.

It will be interesting to see how the situation develops. Liverpool have been mediocre this season and someone like Kvaratskhelia could transform their season if he joins in January.
