Tottenham uninterested in selling Real Madrid target Son Heung-min

Son Heung-min is reportedly a target for Spanish giants Real Madrid, but Tottenham Hotspur will not consider selling him.

According to a report from 90min, Real Madrid are interested in signing Son Heung-min. But Tottenham Hotspur will not sell the South Korean international for another couple of years at the very least.

Recent reports claimed that the Spanish giants are keeping tabs on the 30-year-old’s situation at the north London club. Son is one of the best players in the world, and it is no surprise that Real Madrid are monitoring him.

Despite a rough start to the current season, the South Korean international remains an indispensable asset for Tottenham and he was recently placed 11th in the Ballon d’Or list.

The Tottenham attacker has scored five goals in 16 appearances across all competitions this season, and the fans are understandably concerned about his form. However, there is no doubt that Son remains a key player for Antonio Conte and will be looking to get back to his best in the coming weeks.

The South Korean forward has been a match-winner for Tottenham ever since he joined the club from Bayer Leverkusen. He could prove to be a quality acquisition for Real Madrid. But Tottenham are clearly not interested in selling Son.

Furthermore, the Premier League heavyweights are not in need of money right now. So Real Madrid will struggle to tempt them into selling their star player.

Apart from Harry Kane, the 30-year-old has been the club’s main source of goals over the years. Despite his dip in form, he brings a lot of other qualities into the side and his departure would weaken Tottenham significantly.

Furthermore, selling a player of his calibre would send out the wrong message to the fans and the players at the club. Harry Kane has been linked with a move away from Tottenham as well, and Spurs should do everything in their power to keep their star players for as long as possible.

Conte is an ambitious manager who will look to win the major trophies at Tottenham. And the north London club cannot afford to weaken their squad if they are to end the trophy drought.
