Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has put new contract talks on hold, alerting his potential suitors across Europe.

As per Football Insider, Harry Kane is not keen to indulge in contract talks as Antonio Conte’s imminent future will play a big role in his decision.

Kane seems to be pretty happy, even as Tottenham have been on a rollercoaster ride in the Premier League. Despite the harrowing defeat in the North London derby, Spurs have reduced the gap to four points with table toppers Arsenal.

Kane will enter the final year of his contract next summer when he will turn 30. But Spurs are keen to turn him into a legendary figure by offering him fresh new terms. Kane was the subject of strong interest from Manchester City last year. But Tottenham remained defiant in their stance, which compelled City to shift their focus to alternative targets.

The English champions were expected to revisit their interest this year. But Pep Guardiola’s decision to recruit Erling Haaland closed the door permanently for Kane. Nonetheless, the 29-year-old has continued to be the focal point of the Tottenham attack under Antonio Conte. And his returns have been exceptional, as the English international has hit nine Premier League goals so far this term.

But Tottenham’s lack of success on the pitch has been a severe concern for the player, who wants to compete at a very high level. Improvements have been pretty evident in the UEFA Champions League this season following an initial few hiccups.

But the English attacker is in two minds and therefore wants to witness the club’s credentials in the next few months. Kane is also waiting for Tottenham to conclude their contract negotiations with Conte, as it was the Italian manager who convinced the player of the current sporting project.

If reports are to be believed, Spurs are ready to make Conte the highest-paid manager in England with an estimated salary of £20 million per season. It is expected the former Juventus and Inter Milan manager will secure another lengthy contract for him, and it might persuade Kane to rethink his future. Till then, his suitors, including Bayern Munich, will likely keep an eye on the matters.
