Fulham in race to sign Pawel Dawidowicz

Pawel Dawidowicz is a target for Fulham in the ongoing transfer window, but they face competition from Nottingham forest for the Polish centre-back.

According to Football Insider, there is a transfer tussle emerging for Pawel Dawidowicz. Premier League’s promoted sides Fulham and Nottingham Forest are keen on the Polish defender, with Marco Silva more serious about securing the Hellas Verona star.

Fulham are yet to close shop in this transfer window as Marco Silva eyes further reinforcements. Despite their brilliant performance in the 2-2 draw against Liverpool to open their season, the manager is keen on strengthening their defence, having lent his focus to building the midfield and attack so far.

In the last few weeks, Silva has been searching the market for a new centre-back and has signed Issa Diop from West Ham and Shane Duffy. The Fulham boss is far from content and wants another centre-back to shore up the defence.

The Cottagers are aware of past mistakes and clueless spending, as they suffered relegation during their previous campaign in the top flight despite investing heavily. The club trusts Silva to guide them through this difficult challenge and help them stay in the Premier League beyond this season.

Silva’s next target seems to be Hellas Verona star Pawel Dawidowicz. The 27-year-old Polish international has a contract with the Italian outfit until 2025 but could be tempted to join a Premier League club. The centre-back has hopes of making it to the Poland squad for the World Cup, and a move to England could help him achieve his ambitions.

However, Fulham face competition from fellow newcomers Nottingham Forest, who are also looking for further reinforcements. In hindsight, Silva’s project looks promising after their decent start to the season, and the defender might be tempted to join the west London side.

There’s no mention of figures that may convince Hellas Verona to part ways with the defender. Fulham could make a decent offer if their interest is serious and tempt the centre-back to move to London. However, without much experience playing at the level of Premier League clubs and having just returned from a serious knee injury, it may take some time for the Polish star to adapt to English football.
