West Ham United have reportedly submitted a €15 million bid to sign Feyenoord’s Argentine centre-back Marcos Senesi.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Feyenoord centre-back Marcos Senesi is attracting interest from multiple European clubs, including Premier League outfit West Ham United. The Hammers have already lodged an offer worth €15 million plus add-ons for the Argentine international.
Marcos Senesi joined Feyenoord in the 2019 summer transfer window from Argentine club San Lorenzo and has impressed many with his performances in the heart of the Dutch side’s defence since then. In three seasons, the 25-year-old has made 116 appearances for De Trots van zuid across all competitions, scoring nine times and assisting seven goals as well.
Senesi’s solid performances have attracted interest from all around Europe, including the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona, who have both signed centre-backs this summer. There was interest from Italy as well with AS Roma, Fiorentina and Napoli all monitoring the Argentine defender’s situation, but Feyenoord have managed to keep hold of him thus far.
However, with just a year remaining on his contract with the Rotterdam-based club, the ongoing transfer window seems the best time to move to greener pastures. The Dutch giants will also want to offload Senesi this summer if he does not sign an extension than risk losing him on a free next year, bringing West Ham United into the picture.
West Ham have emerged as a potential destination for Senesi. The David Moyes-managed club have submitted an offer worth €15 million plus add-ons to convince Feyenoord into selling the Argentine defender. The Dutch club’s stance is yet not clear.
The Hammers have been quite busy in the ongoing transfer window and have signed as many as four players this summer. Sassuolo hitman Gianluca Scamacca has arrived to solve their attacking woes, while centre-back Nayef Aguerd has joined from Stade Rennais. But Aguerd’s long-term ankle injury has forced West Ham to enter the market again for a centre-back, with Mason Holgate also emerging on their radar.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Alphonse Areola has also been signed from Paris Saint-Germain, along with central midfielder Flynn Downes from Swansea City. West Ham will want to add a couple more players to cap off a good transfer window, and Senesi could be one of them.
