Manchester United prospect Hannibal Mejbri could reportedly be set for a move to the Championship going into the 2022/23 season.
According to Sky Sports, Manchester United prospect Hannibal Mejbri is set to spend the 2022/23 season out on loan as he continues his development before being fully integrated into the club’s first team.
Hannibal Mejbri was signed by Manchester United in the 2019 summer transfer window from AS Monaco. The Red Devils’ coaching staff is eager for Mejbri to play regular football next season, and the attacking midfielder is attacking interest from multiple clubs.
As many as four Championship clubs are said to be exploring the option of getting the 19-year-old on board from Manchester United, who would give the youngster first-hand experience of English football. Birmingham City, West Bromwich Albion, Millwall and Middlesbrough have been reported by Sky Sports as the interested parties.
There are clubs from outside England who are keeping tabs on the Manchester United prodigy as well. Portuguese outfit SC Braga and two unnamed clubs from Spain have also registered their interest.
The 19-year-old, who was part of Manchester United’s touring party to Thailand and Australia for the pre-season, played in the club’s friendly encounters against Crystal Palace and Aston Villa. Erik ten Hag and co. are believed to be content with Mejbri’s performances in the pre-season and see him as an exciting prospect for the future.
The Premier League heavyweights are keen to have the teenager play regular football next season to continue his development after seeing him impress during a couple of outings towards the latter part of the 2021/22 season. He played six minutes in the game between Manchester United and Liverpool in the Premier League.

Mejbri was one of the very few shining lights in a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of the Reds. The teenage prodigy also started Ralf Rangnick’s last match in charge of Manchester United, a 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on the final day of the league season. Manchester United saw enough to be convinced that he should be sent out on loan for a season before being drafted into the senior squad permanently.
