West Ham United are reportedly in discussions with Napoli for attacking midfielder Piotr Zielinski, with the Serie A club demanding at least €45 million.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Piotr Zielinski is a target for West Ham United, with the London outfit entering into discussions with Napoli for the attacking midfielder. The Serie A giants want at least €45 million, as David Moyes seriously considers signing the Polish international.

Piotr Zielinski had another consistent season under his belt as Napoli finished third in Serie A after being one of the early favourites for the title. The Polish midfielder played 35 games, scoring six times and assisting five goals during the campaign, and his displays have put him firmly on the radars of West Ham United.

The 28-year-old is a target for West Ham as David Moyes continues his search for a specialist attacking midfielder amid links with Youri Tielemans. The Hammers have players in that position, but after an unconvincing season, there could be room for a new star to arrive.

Moyes wanted Jesse Lingard, who, despite his high salary demands, recently secured a one-year contract with Nottingham Forest. The move has forced the Hammers to continue their search for an alternative.

Zielinski’s name has been linked by the Italian media, who reckon Napoli are set to demand at least €45 million for the 28-year-old attacking midfielder. The price tag was considered a worrying prospect for West Ham, although the report claims the Hammers could be willing to sign the Polish international.

West Ham are also interested in another Napoli player, Hirving Lozano. The report suggests West Ham could bow out of the race for the winger owing to his salary demands but adds they could be open to paying €45 million for Zielinski, as Moyes remains keen on bringing in an attacking midfielder.

Zielinski would improve the London outfit drastically, as they lack a player of his profile in their squad. Manuel Lanzini and Pablo Fornals occupied the position for most of last season, but they are not specialists in that role.

Zielinski is a productive player who could suit Moyes’s demands for the role he plays. While West Ham are keen on signing an attacking midfielder, they are also searching for a wide attacker and a striker, with Gianluca Scamacca close to joining the Hammers in the coming days.
