Barcelona are reportedly negotiating with Belgian giants Club Brugge over the potential sale of 20-year-old defender Moussa N’Diaye.
According to SPORT, Barcelona are ready to offload young left-back Moussa N’Diaye in the ongoing transfer window and are in talks with Belgian club Club Brugge over a sale.
N’Diaye arrived at Barcelona from the Aspire Academy in Senegal in the summer of 2020. The 20-year-old was signed after he emerged as one of the best players in the Under-20 Africa Cup in 2019. He signed a three-year contract with the Blaugrana with an option of a further two years, along with a release clause worth €100 million inserted in the deal.
The defender played 11 times for Barcelona Atletic in the Primera RFEF Division in the 2021/22 campaign but failed to make much of an impression. N’Diaye has never made a single appearance for Barcelona’s senior team. With only one year left on his contract with the Catalan giants, a departure in the ongoing transfer window looks extremely likely.
And Club Brugge have emerged as a possible destination for the 20-year-old Senegalese starlet, with Barcelona in negotiations with the Belgian club over a possible departure.
Barcelona and Brugge have already worked on a deal this summer, which saw striker Ferran Jutgla leave the Catalans and sign for the Belgian outfit. The 23-year-old signed for Club Brugge in a transfer worth around €7 million and is already making an impression at his new club.
N’Diaye could soon follow suit and reunite with his former Barcelona Atletic teammate in Bruges, with talks already underway over an exit. The report does not mention the figures that the Catalans could demand for the 20-year-old former Senegal Under-20 international or let him leave on a free transfer by granting him a letter of freedom.
However, as things stand, N’Diaye does not have any place in the Barcelona Atletic squad and seems headed for the exit doors. The Blaugrana already have a replacement lined up for the 20-year-old, as they are on the verge of signing Roman Vega from Argentinos Juniors. The 18-year-old is set to arrive on a loan deal with an option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season.
