La Liga giants Sevilla have reportedly been offered the chance to re-sign Tottenham Hotspur left-back Sergio Reguilon.

According to Mucho Deporte, Sevilla are exploring the possibility of re-signing out-of-favour Tottenham Hotspur left-back Sergio Reguilon. The Spaniard spent the 2019/20 season on loan at Sevilla from Real Madrid before moving to north London.

Reguilon is not a part of Tottenham manager Antonio Conte’s plans going forward, and the Italian tactician wants the club to sell the full-back this summer. The 25-year-old has not been included in Spurs’ pre-season party that has travelled to South Korea as he nears an exit from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

La Liga giants Sevilla, who have been offered the chance to sign the player, could provide the Spanish international with a way out. Reguilon joined Tottenham in a €30 million deal from Real Madrid in the 2020 summer transfer window but has failed to cement a starting spot.

In two seasons, Reguilon has played 67 matches for the club, scoring two and assisting nine goals. In the recently-concluded season, the full-back played 31 matches for Tottenham, but a groin injury ruled him out for the latter part of the season.

Sevilla are on the lookout for a left-back, with Argentine international Marcos Acuna injury-prone and Ludwig Augustinsson, who is now closing in on a move to Aston Villa, struggling to impress in his first season with the club. Julen Lopetegui was often left to use centre-back Karim Rekik in the position and wants a permanent solution to the problem.

But the Andalusian outfit are not well placed to meet Tottenham’s demands or pay all of Reguilon’s wages. The north Londoners will not want to incur a heavy loss on the €30 million they paid for the Spaniard’s services, and Sevilla are thus considering a loan deal.

However, the player might have to lower his wage demands as well. He currently earns €4 million per year, but La Liga giants Sevilla are not in a financial position to match his salary, which further complicates a possible transfer. Manchester United and Barcelona have also been linked with the left-back but are yet to make an official approach.
