Leeds United are reportedly closing in on a €25 million move for Feyenoord’s Colombian winger Luis Sinisterra.

According to The Guardian, Premier League club Leeds United are close to securing a move for Colombian international Luis Sinisterra from Dutch giants Feyenoord Rotterdam.

The 23-year-old came through the ranks at Once Caldas before moving to Europe with Feyenoord in 2018. He has since seen his reputation soar in the Eredivisie and is today among the club’s top players. A return of 35 goals and 29 assists in 113 appearances across all competitions is nothing to sniff at, and there is every reason to believe that Sinisterra can take his game to the next level.

Capable of playing on either wing, the Colombian international is a pacy customer who likes to dribble and also cut inside. A clinical finisher, Sinisterra is also a force to be reckoned with in the air. While he has largely played as a left-winger, he could be set to occupy the opposite flank at Elland Road.

This is because Leeds’s star attacker, Raphinha appears set to move on with Barcelona touted as his favoured destination. This will leave a massive void in the Leeds attack, and the onus might be on Sinisterra to take on the mantle. The Yorkshire side have also brought in Rasmus Kristensen this summer, and the Dane could link up with Sinisterra to form an overwhelming force on the right flank.

As things stand, personal terms have already been agreed upon, and a fee of €25 million including bonuses should be enough to seal the deal. With just the final details to be ironed out, it will come as a surprise if there is a late twist in the tale.

Should the deal go through, Sinisterra will become the second Colombian attacker to move to the Premier League in successive transfer windows. While he might not yet demand the clout of Liverpool’s Luis Diaz, the 23-year-old has been compared to his illustrious compatriot, who has taken to life in England like a fish to water.

Leeds will hope that Sinisterra will also do the same and quickly establish himself as a household name. The Whites have also signed Red Bull Salzburg star Brenden Aaronson and are close to also landing RB Leipzig’s Tyler Adams. Jesse Marsch is slowly yet steadily putting together a young core at Elland Road, and Sinisterra could be the latest piece in his jigsaw.
