Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly reached an agreement with Everton over a £50 million deal for Richarlison.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham Hotspur are set to continue their merry ways in the transfer market by completing yet another coup. This time around, they are on the verge of signing Richarlison, having reached an agreement with Everton for the Brazilian forward.

Tottenham are set to fork out £50 million for Richarlison, excluding bonuses. The first part of the paperwork has already been signed, with the player set for a medical test in Brazil. The deal could be officiated this week, making the Brazilian forward the fourth signing for Spurs ahead of the new season.

The Everton superstar is set to be joined by Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma and Ivan Perisic in Tottenham’s list of new signings. They are all expected to become a part of Antonio Conte’s grand overhaul as the Italian looks to shore up his options all around the park and help Spurs mount a title race in the coming season.

With a track record of scoring 48 goals in the Premier League in 173 matches, Richarlison does offer a bag of tricks in the final third. It is combined with his dynamism and overall work rate that makes him one of the most versatile and influential attackers in the Premier League.

From a tactical perspective, the Brazilian international is expected to lower the burden on Harry Kane and Son Heung-min as far as Tottenham’s goalscoring department is concerned. His ability to operate centrally makes him an ideal backup for Kane too and an ideal coup for the Lilywhites.

With Tottenham forking out £50 million for his services, though, it is likely Richarlison will become a guaranteed starter for the Londoners next season. Conte will hope the former Watford starlet can form a deadly partnership alongside Kane and Son to make Spurs one of the most feared attacking teams in the Premier League.

Prior to the agreement, Spurs were hoping to include Steven Bergwijn as a makeweight in the deal to sign Richarlison. But it appears Everton had been keen on receiving a cash payment for the Brazilian forward, which will go a long way in helping them balance their books and add new players ahead of the new season.

Although the Toffees are yet to sign any new players so far, they are considering a move for Chelsea outcast Hakim Ziyech, while Christian Eriksen has emerged as another exciting alternative, as coach Frank Lampard looks to shore up his options in the creative unit.
