West Ham United table offer for Christian Eriksen

Christian Eriksen continues to attract attention as West Ham United become the latest club to make an offer to the Danish international.

According to the print edition of the Daily Mail (h/t West Ham Zone), West Ham United have made a contract offer for Christian Eriksen, with the Danish international yet to make a decision on his future. There’s considerable interest in the midfielder, who could soon choose from various proposals.

It has been an unusual twelve months for Christian Eriksen. The midfielder suffered a life-threatening cardiac arrest during last summer’s European Championships and miraculously made his comeback on the field six months later.

Having been forced to leave Inter Milan due to the league regulations in Italy, which disallows players to take the field with a pacemaker, he proved his fitness by training regularly with Ajax and soon earned a move to Brentford, signing a six-month deal with the London side.

At one stage, Brentford seemed one of the favourites to re-sign him on a longer deal, but in light of some fantastic offers on the table, things are a bit tricky. There are multiple clubs from the Premier League aiming to sign the attacking midfielder, who had a terrific half-season with the Bees.

Manchester United were considered favourites for the playmaker’s signing until Eriksen snubbed their advances, which has left the door open for other sides to take their chances. The interest in the Dane is tremendously growing, and he has several options to consider, including staying put at Brentford.

Tottenham are certainly in the race, along with Newcastle United. However, West Ham United have reportedly become the latest side to express their intention to sign the midfielder, as the Hammers have supposedly made an offer to Eriksen.

David Moyes wants to add creativity to his side, and Eriksen’s proven pedigree and experience makes him a perfect fit. The midfielder has proved his fitness with his performances for Brentford in the last four months. Moreover, he will be a financially viable option for West Ham, who are set for another season in European football.

Eriksen will need to make a decision on his future imminently. Plenty of factors will determine his decision, although it seems like Manchester United might not be in the running to sign him anymore.
