Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has completed a transfer to Bayern Munich, with the German giants confirming his signing on a three-year deal.
Bayern Munich have announced on their official website that they have completed the signing of Liverpool superstar Sadio Mane, securing the services of the Senegalese speedster on a three-year contract.
Mane had been in talks with Bayern Munich over a summer transfer for weeks together. The 30-year-old was entering the final year of his contract with Liverpool and had informed the club that he wished to move on and take up a new challenge. Negotiations with Bayern Munich were underway immediately, but the Bavarian giants had a bid rejected by the Reds.
An improved offer was then lodged, with Bayern director Hasan Salihamidzic flying to England to finalise a move. The Die Roten transfer chief then confirmed that an agreement had been reached for the Senegalese international, who led his nation to the Africa Cup of Nations triumph earlier this year.
Mane flew to Munich on Tuesday to complete his medical and other final details of the deal, and the Bundesliga champions have now confirmed the transfer. The 30-year-old attacker has penned a three-year contract with the Bavarians until the summer of 2025.

Upon the completion of the move, Mane said: “I’m very happy to finally be with FC Bayern Munich. We had a lot of talks and I felt the great interest of this big club from the start. So there was no doubt in my mind right from the start: This is the right time for this challenge. I want to achieve a lot with this club, also internationally. During my time in Salzburg I followed many FC Bayern games – I like this club very much!”
As reported by reliable transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the deal for Bayern to sign Mane from Liverpool cost around €32 million, with the total value of the operation set to rise to €41 million, including add-ons.
Mane departs Liverpool six years after joining from fellow Premier League Southampton. During his time at Anfield, the 30-year-old won a Premier League title, the UEFA Champions League crown, along with several other trophies. He departs after having made 269 appearances for the Merseyside giants, in which he netted 120 goals and set up 48 more.
