Aston Villa and Newcastle United are among the clubs interested in the services of Reuben McAllister.

According to The Sun, Reuben McAllister is starting to garner interest from major clubs across England. Aston Villa and Newcastle United have both expressed the desire to sign the youngster, while Rangers and Celtic are involved in the chase as well.

Currently plying his trade for Bristol City, Reuben is the son of former Scotland international Jamie McAllister. He is an attacking midfielder by trade, who has made a solid impression with his performances in the youth leagues.

Although his father is set to become the assistant coach at Hibernian, Reuben has remained at Bristol City. The youngster has enjoyed a rapid rise to prominence, notably making his Under-23 debut last October, despite being only 16.

The young playmaker is poised to make his professional breakthrough in the near future, with many even labelling him as the next big thing in Scottish football. His consistent performances in the youth leagues have only backed up his talent, whilst putting a number of English clubs on red alert.

Newcastle United are among the clubs keeping tabs on McAllister. The Magpies are set to undergo a busy summer ahead with the new owners looking to flex their financial muscle. While Newcastle United have been largely linked with established players such as Hugo Ekitike, they are open to luring in young talents with room for potential.

Coach Eddie Howe, after all, is one of England’s finest when it comes to nurturing young talents. He is, therefore, keen on the services of Reuben McAllister ahead of the new season.

Another club keen on the services of the Scot are Aston Villa. The Villans have already roped in Boubacar Kamara, Diego Carlos and Phillipe Coutinho for the season ahead. At the same time coach Steven Gerrard wishes to strengthen the youth ranks, which is why they have also expressed the desire to sign Reuben McAllister.

At the age of 16, McAllister still has a long way to go before he can exert himself at the highest level of football. To that end, staying put at Bristol City might prove to be a sensible option for the youngster, as it will help him gain some valuable professional experience in the coming season.
