Crystal Palace midfielder Luka Milivojevic has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for newly-promoted Premier League side Fulham.
According to the Daily Mail, Crystal Palace midfielder Luka Milivojevic is on the radars of newly-promoted Premier League club Fulham heading into the summer transfer window.
Milivojevic joined Crystal Palace from Greek club Olympiacos in the January transfer window of 2017. The 31-year-old soon became a mainstay in the centre of the park for the Eagles under then-manager Sam Allardyce and continued to play a key role under Roy Hodgson, although his game-time took a hit this past season after Patrick Vieira in took charge of the team.
Indeed, the former Arsenal captain preferred the likes of Cheikhou Kouyate, James McArthur and Will Hughes ahead of Milivojevic in the defensive midfield role in the 2021/22 campaign. As a result, the Serbian was restricted to just 15 Premier League appearances in the campaign, only nine of which were from the start.
Milivojevic will be entering the final year of his contract this summer, and with Crystal Palace lining up the signing of a new midfielder, the 31-year-old will be allowed to leave by the Eagles. And newly-promoted Premier League side Fulham have emerged as a prospective suitor for Milivojevic ahead of the summer transfer window.
Fulham enjoyed a brilliant 2021/22 season as they romped home to the EFL Championship title, which earned them automatic promotion to the top flight. And manager Marco Silva is already chalking out plans to strengthen his roster ahead of what could be a tough season back in the Premier League.
Defensive midfield is an area where Fulham can use reinforcements as Jean Michael Seri is on his way out with his contract expiring at the end of June. The Cottagers have been linked with a move for Real Betis and Portugal midfielder William Carvalho, while there is also interest in Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Winks.
Now Milivojevic has also emerged as a prospective target for the London club. The 31-year-old will likely be available for cheap due to his contract situation. At the same time, he is a player that Fulham manager Marco Silva knows well, having coached him at Olympiacos in the past. However, they might face competition from fellow promoted club Nottingham Forest in pursuit of the Crystal Palace star.
