Crystal Palace, Everton join Newcastle in Ismaila Sarr pursuit

Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Everton are reportedly ready to raid Watford for the services of Ismaila Sarr.

Watford’s relegation from the Premier League could finally see Ismaila Sarr leave the club this summer. The Senegalese international has been on the radar of many Premier League clubs over the years, and it should be no different this time around, reports from Jeunes Footeux.

Newcastle United have been in contention to sign the Watford forward lately, but it appears they are set to face stiff competition from fellow league rivals Crystal Palace and Everton. Both the clubs have shown the desire to sign the player on a cut-price deal and upgrade their options going forward.

Crystal Palace coach Patrick Vieira, in particular, rates the player highly due to his explosive nature of play that goes hand in hand with his tactical philosophy. The Frenchman is likely targeting Sarr as a direct replacement for Jordan Ayew, who is set to leave Crystal Palace in the summer.

Everton, too, are in the market for a new wide attacker amid uncertainties over the future of Richarlison. The Brazilian international has become a wanted figure in the market, with the likes of Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Manchester United keeping close tabs on him this summer.

Someone like Ismaila Sarr could prove to be an ideal replacement for Richarlison. The Senegalese international can offer the pace and trickery out wide for Everton, thus adding more unpredictability to the Everton frontline.

The most likely destination for Sarr, though, is St. James’ Park. The player’s agent believes Newcastle United could be the ideal club for his client and has already held talks with the club over a potential move to the north east at the end of the season.

The combination of Sarr and Allan Saint-Maximin could add a whole new dimension to Newcastle United’s attacking lineup, making them one of the most attractive teams in the Premier League. It could also help Eddie Howe add more depth to the squad, which could be important ahead of a long season.

The report suggests Watford are prepared to cash in on Ismaila Sarr following their relegation. The Hornets are willing to let the player leave for a fee of €35 million, which once again puts Newcastle United in the driver’s seat, knowing they have the financial capacity to pull off the move.
