Arsenal unwilling to sell Thomas Partey

Arsenal offer €47 million to sign Chelsea target Riccardo Calafiori, told to pay more.

Arsenal are reportedly not interested in entertaining any offers for midfield mainstay Thomas Partey amid interest from Serie A giants Juventus.

According to AS, Arsenal are unwilling to sell midfielder Thomas Partey in the upcoming summer transfer window even as Serie A giants Juventus contemplate a swap offer for the Ghanaian international.

Partey joined Arsenal in the summer of 2020 from Atletico Madrid after the Gunners triggered his release clause. However, the 28-year-old’s debut season in England was an ordeal due to injury and fitness issues. But having settled in at the Emirates, the midfield powerhouse has developed into a key player for the Gunners this season.

Indeed, Partey has proven to be a pivotal part of Mikel Arteta’s side this term. Even though he is out with an injury again, the Ghanaian has played his part in helping Arsenal push for a top-four finish in the Premier League. In 24 league matches in 2021/22, the Gunners ace has produced a return of two goals and an assist.

Juventus have been long-term admirers of Partey and are reportedly considering making a swoop for him in the summer. It was even claimed that the Bianconeri would be open to offering Arthur Melo as part of the deal, with the Brazilian a subject of transfer interest from Arsenal.

However, according to AS, Arteta and Arsenal have no intentions of selling Partey in the summer. The north Londoners acknowledge that he has had injury issues but are willing to make an exception, as the midfielder was involved in the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year and then played without a break.

Furthermore, before picking up the season-ending injury, Partey put on some eye-catching displays for Arsenal in the centre of the park. A powerhouse in the middle, the former Atletico Madrid ace is suited to Premier League football and has exhibited qualities that will make him a vital part of this Arsenal setup for years to come.

So, while Juventus continue to dream about a potential move for Partey, Arsenal have no interest in entertaining any offers for their prized asset, who has a contract that runs until the summer of 2025.
