Tipped for a bright future in the game, Guerrero has emerged as a transfer target for Real Madrid’s La Liga rivals Athletic Club. The Basque outfit are keen on signing the Bilbao-born prodigy in the summer but are unlikely to be met with success in their efforts.
Real Madrid are aware of the potential that Guerrero possesses and have him tied down to a contract with a huge release clause, as per the report. It will likely prevent Athletic Club from signing the 17-year-old Spanish prodigy in the summer.
While a permanent transfer is seemingly off the table, Real Madrid could consider the possibility of a loan deal. The 17-year-old could move to Athletic Club, where he would stand a chance to make a first-team breakthrough and get some experience at the highest level.
However, at this point, no such plans are under consideration. Real Madrid are more than happy with Guerrero and his development over the past year. The Spanish capital outfit believe that he can be a key part of the Castilla outfit in the near future, which could pave the way for a senior team breakthrough.
