Premier League sides Crystal Palace and West Ham United are reportedly targeting Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Cameron Carter-Vickers.
According to 90 min, Crystal Palace and West Ham United are among a host of clubs interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur’s 24-year-old centre-back Cameron Carter-Vickers. The USA international is currently on a season-long loan deal at Celtic and has been quite impressive which has put interested parties on alert.
Along with the two aforementioned sides, Everton, Southampton, Fulham and Wolverhampton Wanderers have also registered interest in the Tottenham defender. Carter-Vickers will return to Spurs after the end of his loan spell with Celtic, but the north London giants are not planning to provide him with first-team action.
Celtic have an option to buy the defender permanently and may want to exercise it after the end of the season. But with multiple Premier League clubs showing interest, the Scottish giants could find it tough to keep hold of him past this season. The aforementioned report states that Carter-Vickers himself would not be making his move permanent if regular Premier League football is on offer.
With Celtic all but out of contention to sign the Tottenham defender, the other interested Premier League clubs are left to fight it out between them. The centre-back is strong in the air and looks composed on the ball as well, which would make him a good addition to the clubs interested in his signature.
As far as West Ham’s interest is concerned, David Moyes is eager to improve his defensive options ahead of the next season. He currently has Issa Diop, Craig Dawson, Angelo Ogbonna and Kurt Zouma as his centre-back candidates. But to continue challenging for European spots, West Ham will need reinforcements in the position, with Michael Keane among their targets.
Crystal Palace, on the other hand, are one of the better clubs on the defensive front in the Premier League. The Eagles have conceded just 41 league goals this term, fewer than Manchester United and West Ham United. But Patrick Vieira wants to continue strengthening the Crystal Palace squad and feels Carter-Vickers could be an effective addition to the squad.
With a host of other Premier League clubs interested, it remains to be seen which one the 24-year-old chooses. Carter-Vickers will have just a year remaining on his Tottenham contract after the current season, meaning Crystal Palace, West Ham and others will fancy their chances of snapping him up.
