Erik ten Hag wants Paulo Dybala at Manchester United

Erik ten Hag wants to bring Paulo Dybala in the summer to bolster the Manchester United attack as his appointment as the next manager looks imminent.

According to Tutto Mercato Web via Sport Witness, Manchester United managerial target Erik ten Hag wants the club to sign Paulo Dybala in the summer. The Red Devils have reportedly held talks with intermediaries connected to the Argentine, who will leave Juventus on a free transfer when the season ends.

The news about Paulo Dybala and Juventus falling out over contract negotiations has put his long-term admirers on high alert. There is no chance of the Argentine remaining in Turin beyond the ongoing season, although his next destination remains a puzzling prospect.

There has been interest from Inter Milan from Italy. Dybala could wait for proposals from Spain and the Premier League to arrive before deciding on his next move. Dybala is reportedly uninterested in moving to Arsenal or Newcastle, which leaves a handful of clubs in the country who could target the Argentine forward.

Tottenham were previously interested, although the arrival of Dejan Kulusevski potentially closes the door for the Juventus man in north London.

It leaves Manchester United as a frontrunner for his signature, with the Red Devils reportedly keen on securing his signature. It is suggested that potential new manager Erik ten Hag wants to stamp his authority on the squad by signing players of his choice, having already insisted on a few names for the next window.

Dybala features among those names, and the Dutch manager is keen on bringing the Argentine in the summer window. Manchester United have supposedly held talks with one of the intermediaries involved in the Dybala deal, and are expected to negotiate further in the coming weeks.

The element of a Bosman deal makes the transfer less complicated, as all Manchester United have to do is agree on personal terms and other financial details with the player. Meanwhile, Dybala may be convinced by the project the club could embark under ten Hag.

It remains to be seen what transpires of Dybala’s future, although a move to Manchester United could well be beneficial to all parties concerned. The Argentine could be signing on a lucrative salary, something the likes of Arsenal or Inter Milan may not be able to afford, leaving the Red Devils as the leader in this chase.
