Arsenal and Manchester United are planning enquiries for Max Aarons who may look to remain in the Premier League if Norwich City get relegated.

According to The Sun, there is considerable interest in Max Aarons, with Manchester United and Arsenal vying for the right-back’s signature. The Norwich City defender could be looking at the exit door if the Canaries get relegated at the end of the season.

Norwich City are staring hard at relegation as they sit bottom of the Premier League table. Their hopes of collecting enough points to survive look slim, which means they are bracing themselves for next season in the Championship.

In case they drop down to the second division, Norwich might lose some of their best players to Premier League clubs keeping tabs on some stars. Max Aarons is one of those as interest in the right-back continues to rise considerably. West Ham United are one of the clubs that want the English right-back.

However, Aarons is attracting plenty of interest from bigger clubs, including Arsenal and Manchester United. The Red Devils are considering signing new players in the position after losing patience with incumbents Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot.

The two right-backs have been sub-par all season, especially Wan-Bissaka, with Manchester United preparing to sell him in the summer. Erik Ten Hag, the manager expected to take charge at Old Trafford, may want new reinforcements in different positions, and the right-back spot remains one of the key positions to reinforce.

Aarons is reportedly available for £20 million as Norwich want a fair price for one of their prized assets. Manchester United will be willing to pay that much to secure the signing, although they face stiff competition from Arsenal.

The Gunners are also looking for a new right back. They made amends in solving the problem area after signing Takehiro Tomiyasu last summer, but his injury struggles in the last few months may have prompted them to dip into the market for an alternate option.

While Tomiyasu seems like a heavyweight signing, his injury record at Arsenal is not so promising. Additionally, the future of Cedric Soares could also be in doubt, meaning the Gunners may need a new right-back one way or another. Mikel Arteta does not want a player just as a cover but someone who suits his style and system.

Aarons certainly seems like that player, although Arsenal’s chances may depend on their ability to beat the competition for the right-back. Manchester United, West Ham and the Gunners could be in a tussle during the summer window, as the Norwich City man seems to be in high demand, with a £20 million move on the cards.
