Bayern Munich are reportedly demanding a transfer fee of around €70-80 million to sell Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona in the summer.
According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Barcelona will have to shell out around €70-80 million if they intend to sign Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich in the upcoming transfer window.
Lewandowski is in the final 15 months of his contract with Bayern Munich and has his heart set on an exit as he seeks a new challenge in his career, having won every trophy he has contested for with Die Roten. Barcelona have emerged as the 33-year-old’s most ardent suitors ahead of the summer window.
The Catalans are in the market for a new marquee goalscorer who can fill in the void left by Lionel Messi’s shock exit last summer. Erling Haaland has been their top priority for quite some time now. But Barcelona are directing their efforts to sign Lewandowski after it emerged that Haaland could join Manchester City or Real Madrid.
Lewandowski is demanding a three-year contract from his suitors, which his current employers are reluctant to offer. And Barcelona are willing to do so. Indeed, reports have already claimed that the Catalans have an agreement in principle with the Poland international. However, those claims have been shot down by various media outlets.

Lewandowski wants a three year deal to stay – otherwise he'd still be prepared to leave this summer.

Gianluca Di Marzio also insists that there is nothing advanced at this stage and that Barcelona hold a strong interest in Lewandowski. It is claimed that Xavi Hernandez sees the 33-year-old as a player who can help the team take a step forward in their rebuild despite his advancing years. After all, the striker is enjoying another prolific season, netting 47 goals in 41 games in all competitions for Die Roten.
However, Bayern Munich’s asking price could be a major stumbling block for Barcelona in their pursuit of the centre-forward. The Bavarian giants are reluctant to lose their prized asset this summer. And in case they are forced to consider a sale, the German champions are set to demand a massive sum of around €70-80 million to let Lewandowski leave.

That fee could prove to be out of limits for Barcelona, who are willing to go as far as €30 million only. The gap in the valuations is vast and could be a big hurdle when negotiations begin over a transfer.
