Aston Villa are reportedly interested in signing Noni Madueke and Ibrahima Sangare in the summer transfer window.

According to Eindhovens Dagblad, Premier League giants Aston Villa are keen to raid Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven for Noni Madueke and Ibrahima Sangare in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Both players have been instrumental for PSV this season as they look to secure the Eredivisie title and go all the way in the UEFA Europa Conference League. Madueke has proven to be an excellent forward and complements Cody Gakpo on the other flank in the PSV attack.

Just 20, the youngster has already made a name for himself as one of the Dutch top division’s rising stars. He has nine goals and five assists in 31 appearances for PSV this season, a handy return for a player who is yet to make a senior appearance for England.

A move to Villa Park will see Madueke return to the nation where he spent his formative years. He was originally a part of the Crystal Palace youth setup before moving to Tottenham in 2014. Madueke spent four years in North London before moving to PSV in 2019. So far, it has proven to be an inspired decision.

Sangare, meanwhile, is a defensive midfielder who earned his shot at the big time with Toulouse before swapping France for PSV in 2020. The 24-year-old is the complete package and is a force to be reckoned with in the middle of the park for the Dutch heavyweights.

The Ivory Coast international is not just adept at making interceptions and tackling but also winning back possession. Add to it his aerial prowess and passing ability, and Steven Gerrard has the ingredients to turn him into a world-class midfielder. The presence of such a player will shield the defence and hand the likes of John McGinn more freedom to drive forward.

Steven Gerrard has improved Aston Villa’s fortunes in recent months and appears to be keen to build upon his initial success. Securing Madueke will give him a reliable option on the right-flank, adding more bite to the Villa attack.

Danny Ings has flattered to deceive, and bringing in another attacker could very well see Gerrard promote Ollie Watkins as the starting forward. The Englishman could do wonders flanked by the likes of Madueke and potentially Philippe Coutinho if his stay is made permanent.

Gerrard was in attendance at the King Power Stadium earlier this week as PSV took on Leicester City in the UEFA Europa Conference League quarter-final first leg. The Aston Villa boss certainly appears to be taking a personal interest in the forward-midfield duo, and it remains to be seen if this will translate to anything concrete approach to the Dutch heavyweights in the summer.
