Arsenal are reportedly ready to rival Napoli in the race to sign 22-year-old Colombian forward Luis Sinisterra in the upcoming summer transfer window.
According to Corriere Dello Sport, Arsenal are among the clubs interested in securing the services of Luis Sinisterra. The Feyenoord frontman has become one of the most in-demand attackers in Eredivisie, with the Dutch outfit likely to offload him at the end of the season. The 22-year-old himself could be keen on making the next step in his career, with the player being valued at around €15 million.
Sinisterra has been mainly linked with a move to Napoli. But the Serie A giants are set to face stiff competition from Arsenal, who have already made the proposal to sign the Colombian international, who is tipped to become the next big star for his nation after Luis Diaz of Liverpool.
A native of Lucumi, Sinisterra moved to Europe in 2018, joining Feyenoord in a €2 million deal. It has turned out to be a bargain for the Eredivisie giants as the winger has been performing superbly, especially in recent seasons.
A left-winger by trade, the 22-year-old has already made over 100 competitive appearances for Feyenoord. His tally of 30 goals and 26 assists are quite impressive, with the attacker making waves across Dutch football due to his dynamism and productivity in the final third.
Sinisterra’s performances have not gone unnoticed either, with Arsenal among the clubs to table a bid for him. The Gunners are likely considering him as a potential alternative for Gabriel Martinelli, who is set to be shifted into a more central role, especially if Alexandre Lacazette ends up leaving the Emirates amid interest from West Ham United.
Nicolas Pepe is facing an uncertain future as well after failing to impress under Mikel Arteta. The Ivory Coast international is likely to be offloaded in the summer, with Arsenal looking at Domenico Berardi as a like for like replacement.
While Luis Sinisterra is no Berardi when it comes to experience at the highest level of football, the Colombian international has made a remarkable impression in the Eredivisie, and his ability to offer productivity out wide could make him an ideal cog in the attack for Arteta next season, which would explain why they have submitted an offer for the 22-year-old.

However, it remains to be seen if Arsenal can fend off competition from Napoli, who are serious about signing the winger, as they look to brace themselves for life without Lorenzo Insigne. The Italian veteran is set to leave Naples at the end of the season in favour of a move to MLS.
