Liverpool are keeping close tabs on the progress of emerging Czech wunderkind Adam Hlozek, who is also a target for Borussia Dortmund.
A recent report from Jeunes Footeux has offered an update on the future of Adam Hlozek. The Sparta Prague attacker is currently regarded as one of the most talented young players in Europe and has put multiple clubs on red alert with his performances in the Czech top-flight.
Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich are among the clubs keen on the services of Hlozek in the summer. But the player is also courted by Liverpool, with the Premier League club closely monitoring his rapid rise to prominence in Prague.
A product of the Sparta Prague youth academy, Hlozek is an explosive attacker who has impressed onlookers with his speed, productivity and versatility in the final third. Despite being a secondary forward, the youngster is capable of operating out wide and even as a number ten, if required.
His remarkable close control, coupled with his ability to drift past defenders, have raised a lot of eyebrows across Europe. The 19-year-old has already been involved in 20 goals in all competitions this season, while his consistent performances in the Fortuna Liga have helped him earn 12 caps for the Czech Republic as well.
Hlozek is expected to move to a bigger club in the summer in an attempt to further his development. Liverpool, for one, have been mooted as a potential destination, with the Merseyside giants reportedly in the market for a new forward. It appears they are concerned over Divock Origi’s departure in the summer, with Napoli already in talks with the Belgian.
The other forward Roberto Firmino is also facing an uncertain future at Anfield despite speculation over a potential contract extension. It has compelled the Reds to enter the market for Adam Hlozek, who, at the age of just 19, could be a smart long-term investment for Jurgen Klopp.
Much like Firmino, Hlozek is a technically astute striker who may form an excellent combination with the likes of Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz, potentially forming the core of the future Liverpool frontline.
However, the report suggests Dortmund or Bayern Munich could be in pole position to sign the Czech forward, as the player favours a move to the Bundesliga. It could prove to be an obstacle for Liverpool, even though the Reds have no shortage of alternatives, having also targeted SL Benfica’s emerging star, Darwin Nunez.
