The Evertonian has finally done it. A target that seemed invincible to many has been broken by perhaps, the most criticised world-class player England has ever produced.
Wayne Rooney came on in the late stages and with United needing a goal to avoid a defeat against Stoke, and the club captain stepped up big time. Rooney slotted the free-kick perfectly into the corner and with the goal, broke the long-standing record of 249 goals for Manchester United held by Sir Bobby Charlton.

At least Rooney broke the Charlton record in style. Much better than a charitable penalty or a tap-in..

But perhaps this reaction of Rooney’s is something that his manager Jose Mourinho and the Old Trafford faithful will love about the whole situation.
Rooney just broke the all time goal record for united and he’s gutted about the draw. Shows what a champion he is. Fantastic role model
