Manchester United attacker Jadon Sancho is currently on loan at Aston Villa, and he has impressed manager Unai Emery with his performances.
Unai Emery hopes 25-year-old Manchester United troublemaker Jadon Sancho can improve further and establish himself as an important player for the team. His contract with Manchester United expires at the end of the season, and he wants to leave them permanently.
Aston Villa could look to sign him in the summer as a free agent. It remains to be seen how the situation develops. The 25-year-old will be desperate to sort out his long-term future, and a permanent move to the West Midlands club could be ideal for him.
Aston Villa have an exciting project, and they are pushing for Champions League qualification. They are currently third in the league table. The opportunity to join them permanently will be exciting for the England international.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Emery said: “Not yet. But he is a fantastic player. Hopefully, he can help us by increasing his qualities in our structure, like he is doing.
“He will need another contract, and maybe it could be here. If he plays his best football, we will want him. But also other teams could be involved in the interest for him.
“This is football and each matches are all important for every player and the club’s future, how we can achieve our objective.
“The first part of the season was not enough – he was working and trying, but not achieving the performance we needed.
“Now he is getting better. He is getting the challenge for him and us. I spoke with him a few times about the challenge we have with him and that he has with us.
“He must be demanding himself and consistent like he is now. But [we want] more and more. It is not the time to wait. We need everyone with their wishes and qualities.”
The Aston Villa manager’s comments will certainly come as a boost for the player. It remains to be seen whether he can secure his future at the English club by performing at a high level during the remainder of the season.
His move to Manchester United has not worked out at all, and he will hope for a better spell at Aston Villa if the move goes through.
