Tottenham played out an emotional home game on Sunday as they beat Manchester United 2 – 1 to gift White Hart Lane the proper farewell present.
Tottenham will be parting with the White Hart Lane at the end of the season – end of a legacy. The Lane has been ever-present in the club’s footballing history and it was emotional night for the players, the staff and the fans as they all came to witness the last Spurs game to be played at the historic ground.
And the home team did not disappoint either. They beat Manchester United by 2 goals to 1 to secure a perfect farewell for the White Hart Lane. If the win was sweet, the highlight was even sweeter, with Harry Kane becoming the last Spurs player to score at the iconic ground – a perfect event for all Tottenham fans.
What a way to finish at the Lane. Special feeling to score the winner. A day I will never forget. Thank you for your support this season. pic.twitter.com/1A7ogT0X59
