Spain dominated proceedings against Israel in the World Cup 2018 Qualifiers, and consolidated their spot atop the Group G standings. Being the hosts, La Roja controlled the play since the opening whistle, to go on and clinch a 4-1 victory.
It took them only 13 minutes to score the game’s first goal and it came through David Silva. The Manchester City midfielder scored the best goal of the match, and was the driving force in the Spain side for the entire contest.
To heap further misery on the visitors, Vitolo, Diego Costa and Isco each added their names to the scoresheet to give Spain a considerable lead over the Israelis. Lior Refaelov grabbed a late consolation for them, but a superior performance by Spain saw them end up with maximum points.
Silva’s performance was exemplary on the night, and fans on Twitter praised him for his efforts against Israel.

David Silva is a crazily good player. He's looked better this season than in the previous two. How long can he continue to do it?! #MCFC
