Sergio Aguero was sent off along with teammate Fernandinho in Manchester City’s disappointing 1-3 loss to Chelsea
The Argentine once again showed how he can lose his temper when he has had a frustrating game, with an unforgivable challenge on David Luiz. Aguero, who was chasing down the ball after a poor touch, leaped in with his studs high in the air and Luiz was lucky the Manchester City striker did not make the contact he intended to or there is no saying how severe an injury the Brazilian defender could have suffered.
The fracas that followed resulted in Aguero’s teammate Fernandinho also being dismissed after repeatedly grabbing Fabregas – who to his credit did not react – and pushing the Spaniard to the floor.
One user posted a helpful video of the entire incident :

Football fans everywhere took to Twitter to vent their disgust at Aguero :

If Diego Costa did what Aguero did today, the whole football world would call for his head…

Why does Aguero hate Luiz? pic.twitter.com/dzgBzg5m5t

Absolutely disgusting that from Aguero. Career ender.
— Tubes (@TubesSoccerAM) December 3, 2016
Aguero sent off for an INSANE challenge on David Luiz. That's a potential leg-breaker. That's absolutely disgraceful.

Aguero is a great player but that was a bullshit tackle and a potential season ender he pulled. Sit his ass down a few games.
— Taylor Owen (@StChuck_TO) December 3, 2016
I can see PL increasing Aguero's 3 game ban to 5 or 6
& that's just for poor finishing and being a child
6 game ban for the leg-breaker#cfc— Jehode (@jehode) December 3, 2016
Aguero normally has December off due to injuries. This time he gets one off with that stupid red card.
— BlueCityZen (@BlueCitizen007) December 3, 2016
The challenge by Aguero on Luiz could be a horrific injury. If Luiz's leg was planted in the ground it would break it in half. #MCFCvCFC
— Paulo Victor (@paulovictor_23) December 3, 2016
I wonder if the pundits will still be claiming Aguero isn't a dirty player after that horrific challenge today!
— Jason Inge (@jasoninge) December 3, 2016
Not great to end like that but at least some players showed they had some fight in them and they care. Aguero not so much, horrendous.
— Daniel Watson (@DanWatson93) December 3, 2016
Three game ban? I'd chuck him in prison for that! #Aguero

Aguero’s overall performance was quite poor as well, and Chelsea fans felt this proved that their striker is a much better player :
YOUR JUST A POOR DIEGO COSTA, POOR DIEGO COSTA, YOUR JUST A POOR DIEGO COSTA! Not the first time Aguero has done that to Luiz!
— George Benson (@MrGeorgeBenson) December 3, 2016
Aguero finally receives the red card he should have had in the Community Shield years ago. What a disgusting player. Poor man’s Costa.
— Chelsea HQ (@Chelsea_HQ) December 3, 2016
Tbh Aguero is the dirty player people pretend Costa to be. Costa is the striker people pretend Aguero to be.
— Moe. (@moeswaidan) December 3, 2016
Wow. Aguero's darkest day in his career. Lost the title of best striker in the league to Costa and got rustled by Luiz. What a virgin.
— adam (@FutboyAdam) December 3, 2016
You see how stressed Aguero gets when he isnt handed a penalty to fool fans into thinking he's better than Costa
— SG (@CloakOfVader) December 3, 2016
Hope the media doesn't ignore how well Costa scored, didn't get in fights and Aguero goes in for full speed career ending challenges
— Ben (@CriminalCosta) December 3, 2016
Costa carrying his team to victory with a motm performance while aguero gets his second 3 game suspension of the season

Officially seen the light, Costa > Aguero

Costa gets a goal and assist.
Aguero misses tap ins and gets sent off with one of those fittest fouls I've ever seen.
The difference.— Ben (@CriminalCosta) December 3, 2016
And Twitter being Twitter, there were no shortage of trolls around, especially after the altercation between Fabregas and Fernandinho :
