Rio Ferdinand hailed ‘FIFAesque’ Mohamed Salah calling him one of the best stars in world football following impressive displays.

Since arriving at Liverpool, Mohamed Salah has never let his guard down, becoming one of the best players to grace the Premier League. This season has been no different, as the Egyptian scored his 9th goal of the season in all competitions against a formidable Manchester City, and what a strike that was.

That sublime strike itself brought in praises from all across the footballing world, with pundits and managers alike recognised the Egyptian’s qualities. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was quick to call him one of the best players after the game, as the manager hopes Salah renews his deal with the club soon.

Rio Ferdinand is the latest to big up the Liverpool star, which is somewhat rare given his association with Manchester United. The former defender called the Egyptian the best player in the Premier League while comparing his goal to that scored in ‘FIFA.’

Merseyside publication Liverpool Echo published some of the comments Ferdinand made on Vibe with Five YouTube channel. The former Manchester United defender heaped immense praise on the forward, with a heavy heart, of course.

Ferdinand said, “He’s the best player in the Premier League right now. It’s bunning my chest talking like this about a Liverpool player.

“[His goal} was like being on FIFA, that chop, I’ve done that many times on Fifa where you pretend to whip it top corner and then you chop it back. Playground skills. Salah is scoring goals that is helping Liverpool win Premier League and Champions League titles.”

Despite his solid start to the season, the Egyptian makes Liverpool fans nervous as he is yet to commit his long-term future at the club. As Jamie Carragher recently urged the club to get it over the line; it certainly outlines his importance in the side.

Liverpool will find it extremely hard to replace Salah in the event of the forward leaving Merseyside. The Egyptian is demanding a huge pay-day to sign the new deal, and if both parties cannot agree, there are sides already sniffing around for an opportunity.
