Real Madrid clinched a berth in the semi-finals for the seventh season in a row over a resilient 10-man Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League.
Real Madrid came into the match with a 2-1 lead from the first-leg of the UEFA Champions League Quarter Finals over Bayern Munich. The Bavarians made it difficult for Real Madrid as they managed to take it into extra-time after earning a 2-1 win at Santiago Bernabeu.
However, some shambolic refereeing saw Arturo Vidal being red-carded and Real Madrid’s second and third goal, which were offside as the replays have shown, were allowed by the referee. Naturally, Twitter blew the tie wide open with controversy, claiming another preferential treatment from the referee towards a La Liga side.
The game was all over when the referee gave Real Madrid a non existent foul and sent Vidal off. #RMAFCB #Uefadrid

I’m 100% positive a blind referee could’ve done a better job than the one that ref’d the Real Madrid vs Bayern Munchen game. #fcbrma

Unsurprisingly, real madrid make it into the champions league semifinal through referee “mistakes” aka money. #RMAFCB

Not sure why everyone was surprised by the referee decisions last night..Barca&Real have always historically got big decisions in UCL #Nani

Red card and two goals from offside. That’s the guy that has 99 matches under his referee belt? Kassai is a disgrace tonight! #UCL

People consoled Bayern Munich after their spirited performance, especially after the Bavarians went down to 10 men and still managed to put up a fight.
Forget signing a backup striker, Bayern need to sign a referee next season.

Dear Bayern,
This what’s it feels like to play with 10 men and still have the referee make horrible decisions.Signed

So RM needed an imaginary red card, 2 offside goals, 10 men Bayern, Neuer with broken leg, 2 injured CBs, a referee & extra time to qualify

I feel sorry for Bayern fans. They spend time, energy, passion, money, heart into the game only for the referee to be paid off

Hopefully Bayern find some way to go through. Such kind of blatant referee fixing shouldn’t be rewarded
