Real Madrid ended their five-match winless run in the La Liga, as they beat Real Valladolid 2-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday.

Two goals in the last ten minutes of the game saw Real Madrid return to winning ways in the La Liga, as they trumped over Real Valladolid.

It was Real Madrid’s first La Liga game under interim manager Santiago Solari and it did not began all too well for the Spanish capital club as they failed to get past a stubborn Valladolid defence, with star men Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale struggling to impact the proceedings.

However, the introduction of Vinicius Junior late in the second half seemed to alter the course of the game, as the Brazilian’s cross was bundled into his own goal by Valladolid player Kiko Olivas in the 83rd minute, before captain Sergio Ramos dispatched a penalty five minutes later to put the game to bed.

Vinicius’ substitution for Marco Asensio was the difference for the Merengues, as the Brazilian livened up their attack with his pace and energy. Apart from forcing the own goal, 18-year-old also played a key role in Madrid winning the late penalty.

And fans hailed the impact of the teenage sensation, with several criticizing former manager Julen Lopetegui for not giving the youngster enough chances in the first team.

There were a lot of praises for interim manager Santiago Solari as well, who is off to a steady start in his new job, having now led Real Madrid to two wins in his two games in charge.
