Nnamdi Collins comments to Arsenal, Liverpool links

Nnamdi Collins has been linked with a move away from Eintracht Frankfurt, with Arsenal and Liverpool reportedly interested in securing his signature.

Nnamdi Collins has done quite well for Eintracht Frankfurt, and he has the physicality and technical attributes to succeed in English football as well. However, the 22-year-old is focused on the task at hand, and he is not distracted by the transfer rumours.

Speaking to the media about the potential transfer rumours, the German international has revealed that he is happy at the Bundesliga club and is surprised by the links with English clubs.

He told Absolut Fussball via Daily Mirror, “It actually bounces off me pretty well. I’m reading these rumours for the first time myself, which is why I’m partly surprised. I’m very happy to be here at Eintracht.”

It is clear that the youngster is not overly concerned about the links to English clubs, and he has demonstrated his desire to continue in Germany for now. The development will come as a blow to Arsenal and Liverpool. The Premier League clubs need more quality and depth in the defensive unit, and it will be interesting to see if they decide to move on to other targets.

Arsenal and Liverpool could have used Collins

Ben White and Myles Lewis-Skelly have been linked with a move away from the club ahead of the summer transfer window. So, Arsenal will need to replace the defensive duo properly. The 22-year-old defender could have been a very useful acquisition for them.

Similarly, Liverpool need more depth in their defensive unit. Ibrahima Konate will be free agent at the end of the season if he does not sign a new contract in the coming weeks, and Joe Gomez is expected to move on in search of regular playing time. It will be interesting to see if they can bring in the necessary additions at the end of the season.

Arsenal will have enjoyed an impressive season, and they will be hoping to win the Premier League title. They need to keep improving the team if they want to compete regularly with elite clubs. On the other hand, Liverpool have been quite mediocre, and they will look to bounce back strongly.
