Barcelona romped to a 4-1 victory over Granada in the La Liga on Sunday night despite the absence of Lionel Messi. Luis Suarez scored a delightful lob to open the scoring before on-loan Chelsea midfielder Jeremie Boga equalised for the hosts.
Paco Alcacer restored Barca’s lead before Granada’s Uche Agbo was sent off for two yellow cards. Ivan Rakitic’s deflected goal made it 3-1 before Neymar finished off the hosts with the final goal to make it 4-1.
Twitter was abuzz after Neymar scored his 100th goal for the Blaugranes, with several Tweeters paying tribute to the Brazilian superstar as well as his fantastic performance on the night.
Neymar has scored 100 goals for Barcelona across all competitions.

Neymar could, and should, have a hattrick of assists off set-pieces tonight (Mathieu, Mathieu, Alcacer). Impeccable delivery.

What’s really striking about that run is Neymar’s physical strength. Man can really hold his own a lot better now.

Messi has spoiled us so much that Neymar scoring 100 goals seems normal. It’s a great achievement. Hopefully many more to come.

Jeremie Boga was also on the receiving end of praise after putting in a good performance for Granada against difficult opposition.
I hope Jeremie Boga gets his shot

Jeremie Boga equalizes and the Blaugrana have some work to do! #GranadaFCB pic.twitter.com/sDerwwUsLN

Lionel Messi is actually the Argentinian Jeremie Boga

big respect to @GranadaCdeF good perfomance @yosoy8a and @BogaJeremie

I think it’s safe to say this Granada loan hasn’t been the best fit for Jeremie Boga, but he may finally be ready for a PL loan next season pic.twitter.com/M13bnRNj8G

Several fans were also appreciative of Paco Alcacer, who has failed to make his mark on Barcelona’s first team this season.
Great performance from Alcácer. Really happy for him and hope he keeps improving.

Paco Alcacer, Fantastic game and a very important goal and a great assist too!
— MascheranoStats (@MascheranoStats) April 2, 2017
Alcácer scored the winner and assisted Neymar. We’re in a parallel universe.

Alcacer. 3 games. 3 goals. 2 assists.
Imagine if he had more playing time? pic.twitter.com/c0sQ0g7w1l

When Barcelona needed a replacement for Messi, guess who stepped up ? Not Neymar or Suarez but Alcacer. Seals the 3pts, on fire he’s on ! pic.twitter.com/o5Z0XYrMwd

Last night, Paco Alcácer show his class with a goal and assisted Neymar to netted his 100th goals for @FCBarcelona #ForçaBarça #Barça

There was plenty of talk after Samuel Umtiti was benched for the match, with several fans bewildered by Luis Enrique’s decision, especially after Granada equalised.
Iniesta and Umtiti benched for this folly, this is ridiculous.
— Rafael Hernández (@RafaelH117) April 2, 2017
Granada equalizes. This is what happens when you bench Umtiti.
— Coco? (@lanadawood) April 2, 2017
And you know what the saddest part is?
Umtiti would’ve seen that through ball coming a mile away. Yet he’s on the bench, THANKS LUCHO
— Shaunwan (@FCBShaun) April 2, 2017
I don’t understand Lucho at all. He likes to bench Umtiti who has been one of our best players all season but consistently starts Gomes. WTF
— Shaunwan (@FCBShaun) April 2, 2017
Umtiti starts on the bench
RIP
— BlaugranaHome (@BlaugranaHome) April 2, 2017
Lucho’s logic:
• Bench Umtiti who has a 100% win record in La Liga
• Start Gomes every week who has been our worst playerI’m fuming
— Shaunwan (@FCBShaun) April 2, 2017
Gomes, Rakitic, Mascherano OFF. Iniesta, Denis, Umtiti ON. NOW.
