Newcastle United dealt blow in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia pursuit

Newcastle United have been dealt a massive blow in their pursuit of Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as the club is unwilling to let go of the talented winger.

As relayed by Caught Offside, Napoli director Cristiano Giuntoli has rejected any chances of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia leaving for Newcastle United. The Magpies have enquired about the availability of the Georgian winger recently.

Newcastle’s latest takeover has seen them being the most richest clubs and they already injected a huge amount across the last two transfer windows. Eddie Howe has done a fantastic job in keeping the team relevant and they have also emerged as a surprise contender for the Premier League title this season.

Despite spending big Howe still wants to plug the gap in his squad and has been eyeing some fresh addition to the attacking department. The lack of variety is something which has been bothering the English manager and Kvaratskhelia is being viewed as the perfect player.

Napoli paid a mere £10 million for his services but it would take at least a bid of £50 million to make the Naples side sell one of their prized assets. Having arrived at the club this summer only he has taken Serie A by storm and has already been involved in 11 goal contributions, the highest in the Italian top flight.

Newcastle have the financial backing to fund a move for the 21-year-old but Giuntoli remains confident that they will not release the player in any circumstances.

“Newcastle’s interest in Kvicha? There is no chance that we will let him go, despite the amount of the offer.”

A move in January seems very unlikely as this winter transfer window allows very rarely to accommodate that kind of transfer. The Toon already have  Alexander Isak and Allan Saint-Maximin and the further arrival of Kvaratskhelia could make their attack unstoppable.

Manchester United and Liverpool are also keeping eye on the situation and could test Napoli’s resolve in near future. The youngster has all the qualities to develop into one of the potential stars and it seems Newcastle are ready to bet big on the player.
