A first-half penalty from Marcus Rashford was enough for Manchester United to see off Leicester City at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

Manchester United returned to winning ways as they beat Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City side 1-0 at Old Trafford, courtesy a Marcus Rashford strike eight minutes into the game.

The England international, who had missed a penalty earlier this season against Crystal Palace, showed great composure to convert. There were not many chances for either sides from that point on, but Manchester United put in a dogged display to hold on to their narrow lead and bag a much-needed win, ending the Foxes’ unbeaten start to the season.

While Manchester United might have pocketed three points on the day, the performance put on by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men left a lot to be desired among the fans, with many comparing the display with the park-the-bus tactics employed under former boss Jose Mourinho.

While the performance from the team overall did draw a lot of negative opinion, Scott McTominay managed to impress once again for Manchester United. The midfielder made life difficult for the likes of James Maddison and Youri Tielemans and was able to launch a few attacks as well.
