Liverpool star Sadio Mane believes he has left his problems behind him and is hoping to continue his exceptional form this season.

Liverpool have been one of the best teams in the Premier League this season. The Merseyside giants had endured a forgetful campaign last term, in which they narrowly managed to enter the top four, with most of their key players struggling with injuries or lack of form.

One of those strugglers was Sadio Mane. Often regarded as one of the best wingers in the Premier League, the Senegalese international had netted only 11 goals in the league last term, showcasing a woeful run of form in front of goal.

However, the former RB Salzburg star has now made an exceptional comeback in the new season, being one of the central figures behind the club’s excellent start to the campaign. Indeed, he has scored six goals in just ten competitive matches, with his combination with Mohamed Salah making Liverpool one of the most in-form teams in Europe.

In a recent interview, as cited by Liverpool Echo, Sadio Mane has opened up about the problems he encountered last season, before stressing that he has now recovered from those issues, which has now proved to be key in helping him get back to his best form.

“It was hard for myself but it was hard for the team and sometimes that’s normal but that’s all behind us now. I said from the beginning now that it can be a different season for all of us and you can see that,” Mane told the press, shortly after playing a vital role in helping Liverpool dismantle Watford this past weekend.

To Liverpool’s credit, Sadio Mane did have the complete backing heading into this new season, with club legend Jamie Carragher notably predicting the Senegalese international’s return to form, at the start of the campaign.

Already doing well in domestic and European competitions, Mane now hopes that Liverpool can challenge for the title once again this season: “So hopefully we are going to go for the titles, which is our dream, that’s what we are looking at and what we are working for.”

In the meantime, though, the Liverpool winger will need to shift his focus to Europe, as the Reds brace themselves for a tricky encounter against Atletico Madrid this midweek.
