Fresh off the news that Luis Enrique would be leaving the club at the end of the season, Barcelona thrashed Celta Vigo to preserve their lead at the top of the Spanish La Liga. They looked to be back to their best in an important fixture and several players put in brilliant performances last night.
Celta Vigo’s players looked helpless as Barcelona cut their defense open time and time again and if Enrique’s men can keep this form up for the rest of the season, it is hard to see them losing another match.
Twitter was abuzz after Lionel Messi opened the scoring with a trademark driving run from midfield followed by a well placed, powerful shot that left Celta’s goalkeeper with no chance, and the Argentinian wizard was involved in everything else that Barcelona did after that.

The thought of football when Messi has retired is just depressing to me and if you don’t feel the same you’ve not seen football at its best.

There was some sentiment directed Luis Enrique’s way as well after Barcelona looked like they were back to their best.
Barcelona fans now chanting for Luis Enrique to stay. Those who were whistling and jeering the chant for him last week now clapping gently.

This is how Luis Enrique’s team should play football. Only fitting to his legacy.
