Lautaro Martinez’s agent Alejandro Camano claimed the striker is not thinking about a transfer away from the San Siro amid links to Arsenal.
Lautaro Martinez is enjoying yet another outstanding season with Inter Milan, keeping the Italians in the Serie A title race. The Argentine striker has scored 17 league goals this campaign for the Italian champions and continues to attract the attention of elite clubs from all over Europe.
Manchester United have seen their name linked in recent days, along with Arsenal. The Premier League giants are looking for a new striker with enough pedigree to help their respective times flourish.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is widening his search for a new striker ahead of the summer transfer window. They are linked with Tammy Abraham, Victor Osimhen and Martinez. These are the best strikers coming out of Serie A, and one of them might make their way to the Premier League if things go as planned.
Arsenal are also reportedly close to Gabriel Jesus, although they are exploring the option of signing Martinez to add more quality to their side. Inter Milan could be open to selling the Argentine in the summer if their demands are met. They are seeking a transfer fee of around €80 million from suitors.
However, Martinez’s agent Alejandro Camano has claimed that his client is happy at Inter Milan. Speaking to Radio Colonia (h/t Goal), the representative insisted the striker is not thinking about moving away from the San Siro while opening up on the Argentine’s ambitions for the World Cup in Qatar.
Camano said: “We are not depending on a transfer; he is at Inter, he is happy, the city is wonderful. Sometimes the press publishes things about a transfer but Lautaro is thinking about Inter, giving the people of Inter joy, becoming champions and working for the World Cup.
“Lautaro is amazed to play with the Argentine national team, they are all behind Messi, we believe that this is Messi’s World Cup. If Lautaro can score all the possible goals to bring that joy to the country, he will do everything possible.”
Despite Camano’s statement, Arsenal could test Inter Milan with a sizeable offer in the summer. It has to be around the Italian side’s asking price considering Martinez has a contract until 2026 with the Serie A champions. The Gunners will be hoping to secure Champions League football next season, which could boost their chances of signing players of Martinez’s calibre.
