Jurgen Klopp has detailed out why he thinks Mohamed Salah is currently the best player in the world after yet another impressive display.
Mohamed Salah keeps on improving with each passing game. With a scintillating performance, the Egyptian was at it again to banish the old ghosts of playing at Watford. He was among the best players on the pitch alongside Roberto Firmino as Liverpool thrashed the Hornets.
That pass for Sadio Mane’s opener was outstanding while replicating the stunning goal against Manchester City versus Watford showed what Salah might be made of. The Egyptian now sits alongside Jamie Vardy at the top of the scoring charts with seven goals each.
That wonderful strike against Watford was his 10th of the season in as many games in all competition, while also contributing with four assists to date. Similar to the previous matchdays, praises keep pouring in for the forward, although this time, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp decided to explain why Salah might be the best in the world.
As quoted by Sky Sports, in his comments after the game, the German manager marvelled at his team’s performance and singled out Salah for praise. Klopp stated that there is nobody close to the forward on current form and believed he is the best in the world at the moment.

Klopp explained, “His performance was massive today. The pass for the first goal was great, and the second goal was special. He is top. We all see it. Who is better than him? We don’t have to talk about what Messi and Ronaldo have done for world football and their dominance. But right now, he is the best.”
He added, “He is in his age where you can still improve, and he’s doing that constantly. You saw the first goal that he set up for Sadio today; that is an outstanding pass. He brought that, I don’t know, from the summer break. After that, he started doing these kinds of things.”
“How I said, we don’t have hours and hours and hours to train different things. But the boys improve their game by themselves. The consistency he delivers, all this kind of stuff, maybe people just now start seeing it – it was always there. He has played for us for five years now, but it’s absolutely incredible the way he performs since he’s here.”
“He’s in the top, top five since he is at Liverpool pretty much. And now he is the best in that moment. The big thing between Cristiano and Messi was that nobody had a doubt about it for years, but Mo is already on the top level for years as well, and there’s still a lot to come from him because of his desire. He just wants to perform on a top-class level.”
Liverpool and Salah have certainly hit a vein of form needed before what looks like a tough week away from home. They first face Atletico Madrid in Spain during their midweek Champions League clash, and then on Sunday clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford. The Egyptian will be the player to watch during these games.
