Andre Silva converted from close range from a Cristiano Ronaldo cross as Portugal secured a clutch 1-0 win over Hungary in Group B.
Portugal kept pace with Swtizerland with a narrow 1-0 win over Hungary, who were down to 10 men after Tamas Priskin was sent off for an elbow on Pepe. The game was a silent affair, with the only goal of the game coming in the second half as Andre Silva converted from close range.
Cristiano Ronaldo had surpassed Pele for number of international goals. But, Sunday was a relatively off day for the Real Madrid superstar, who still managed to be the main man – creating the goal for Andre Silva.
And as usual, the Portuguese icon was the talk of the town on social media.
Cristiano Ronaldo has now been directly involved in 18 goals in his last 12 games for Portugal.

Ronaldo participated in every dangerous play from Portugal. He did a great job as a playmaker with a brilliant assist.

Ronaldo´s 3 goals and 2 assists in these last two matches (Faroe Islands and Hungary) won 6 points for Portugal.

But, the talking point was the encounter, which was highly physical and saw Pepe being elbowed by Priskin.

Hungary are intentionally trying to harm Portugal’s players. Pepe & Cedric both had cuts on their faces because of elbows.
