Keith Wyness believes Harry Kane will only join Tottenham if he were to return to the Premier League.
Harry Kane’s future has been a big talking point in recent weeks. While he is loving life at Bayern Munich, the England skipper has been tipped for a return to the Premier League.
Quite a few top teams have been linked with him, but the most serious interest seems to be coming from his former club, Tottenham Hotspur. While speaking about Kane’s future on the Inside Track podcast, Keith Wyness insisted that if he were to return to England, it would only be to rejoin Spurs.
Wyness on Kane’s potential return to England
Wyness said via Football Insider: “I think he’s going to go back to Spurs, if he’s going to go anywhere.
“I think the Spurs fans would never forgive him or the club if they didn’t get Harry Kane back, and give him a chance to win a title in a Spurs shirt, which is what he really needs to do to round out his whole career.
“So I think it’d be hard for anybody else to get hold of him. He is a London boy, and I think it would be Spurs.
“While other clubs may look at that option and wish they could do it, I think he’s going to be Spurs through and through, and it’d be hard for him to play anywhere else in the Premier League.”
Kane joined the North London club as an 11-year-old back in 2004. He had a 19-year-long spell at the club during which he became their record goal scorer. Despite his heroics in the final third, Spurs were unable to win any major titles during his time with the first team.
In search of a major silverware, Kane made the move to Bayern in the summer of 2023 in a deal worth around £86 million. He has been on fire since joining the German giants. He is breaking records for fun and has already won the Bundesliga.
Kane to return to Tottenham?
While he is loving life under Vincent Kompany, he has been tipped for a return to England. There is no shortage of takers; every top club in the country would love to have a striker of his pedigree. While quite a few of them can afford him, he is unlikely to go anywhere but Tottenham, as per the former Everton chief.
Kane has a very strong bond with the club and the fans; joining a rival club certainly won’t go down well. More importantly, Kane would love to return to his childhood club and win a major title with them to round out his career.
While he is focused on doing his best for Bayern for now, Kane could certainly consider another challenge in the future, having fulfilled his desire of winning a major title in the Bundesliga.
