Former Tottenham skipper Harry Kane has dismissed rumours suggesting he could be set for a return to the Premier League.
Harry Kane has been scoring goals for fun since joining Bayern Munich from Tottenham in a deal worth over €100 million back in the summer of 2023. He became the fastest player to score 100 goals for a club in Europe’s top five leagues this century when he bagged a brace against Werder Bremen on Friday.
The former Tottenham skipper surpassed the record set by Cristiano Ronaldo and Erling Haaland, who both took 105 matches to bag 100 goals at Real Madrid and Manchester City, respectively.
Following the record-breaking game, Kane talked about the landmark and his future with Sky Germany. While he was delighted to achieve such a feat, he admitted it felt like a bit of a crazy achievement. The 32-year-old was also asked about his future, as he has often been linked with a return to the Premier League.
Kane on a potential return to the Premier League
Kane said via The Athletic: “I’m really happy here at Bayern,”
“I have two years left on my contract. And to be honest, I’m enjoying every minute. I enjoy playing here in front of the fans. I enjoy the team, the coach. So that’s not on my mind at all. I’m just looking forward to this season and hope we’ll be successful.”
Since his move to Bayern Munich, he has won the Bundesliga and has finished as the top scorer in the league in the last two seasons. Overall, he has 100 goals and 29 assists in his 104 outings. Kane certainly seems to be enjoying his time at the German club.
Harry Kane won’t return to England
Kane is quite content at Bayern, and he still has two years left on his deal with the club. He seems happy to continue at the club and is hoping to have another successful season with the German giants. He has no intentions of leaving them anytime soon.
While there has been a lot of talk about his future, the English skipper has played down the chance of returning to the Premier League. His interview came just days after Tottenham boss Thomas Frank was asked about Kane’s potential return to North London.
The former Brentford boss said he would be “more than welcome”, knowing that he is unlikely to leave Bayern anytime soon. While Spurs would love the opportunity to bring him back to the club, they might have to wait a few years before trying to re-sign him.
Kane is enjoying life at Bayern, and he wants to add a lot of trophies and goals before he tries a new adventure elsewhere.
