French striker Olivier Giroud broke hearts at Old Trafford with a last minute equalizer, helping Arsenal salvage a point against Manchester United.
Giroud may not be the most popular player at Arsenal, but he became their saviour against the Red Devils on Saturday.
It was all going according to plan for Jose Mourinho, who has never lost to Arsene Wenger in the Premier League. However, two of Wenger’s substitutes made the difference, as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain whipped in a precise cross and Giroud equalized in the 89th minute.
United had dominated much of the game, with Spaniard Juan Mata scoring a 68th minute goal to put them in the lead. In fact, Giroud scored with the Gunners only shot on target in the entire game. After the match, Gooners took to twitter to laud the Frenchman as well as weigh in on a ‘rubbish’ performance by their team.

Still no successive league wins from United since August. Wenger got a lot of decisions wrong today, but a big one right: Giroud. Great goal

Absolute rubbish from us today, but that’s a big big big goal from Giroud. When you play that badly and get a point shows a bit of character

Arsenal have been rubbish, but that’s a beautiful header from Giroud. I’m bloody aroused.

RIP to all the tweets that didn’t make it out of the drafts because of Giroud’s bullet header. ???

Let’s be honest if Arsenal had Mata, Giroud would be on 50 goals a season
